SJZU Global Talents Recruitment Announcement

Shenyang Jianzhu University (SJZU) is located in Shenyang, the provincial capital of Liaoning. Characterized by architecture, civil engineering and mechanical engineering, SJZU is an engineering-based university with coordinated multidisciplinary development of engineering, management, science, literature, agriculture, law and art. It is co-constructed by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Housing and Rural-urban Development of the People’s Republic of China. Now, SJZU has five first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degree, and 15 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master degree, both of which cover such six discipline fields as engineering, management, science, agriculture, law and art. It also has 11 key provincial and ministerial disciplines and 28 key national, provincial and ministerial laboratories (engineering and technology research centers).

At present, SJZU has made fresh policies for the purpose of providing talents with good development platforms and condition security. In order to further implement the strategy of “strengthening SJZU through talent recruitment”, and to enhance SJZU’s overall strength in disciplines and teachers, an open year-round recruitment is being carried out for all talents from renowned overseas universities or research institutes

I. Recruitment Disciplines and Subjects

Architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture, surveying and mapping science and technology, civil engineering, safety technology and engineering, environmental science and engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, control science and engineering, communication engineering, computer science and technology, instrument science and technology, engineering management, accounting, English language and literature, sports science, philosophy ,etc.

II. Recruitment Positions, Requirements, Salary and Benefits

(i) Global Experts

Academic masters who are active in research frontiers with world-class academic level are welcome to rely on SJZU to apply for national talent projects such as “Thousand-Talent Program” and “Chang Jiang Scholars Program Chair Professor”. In addition to enjoying national policies, successful candidates will have the following supports from SJZU according to relative standards:

1. Position of a second grade professor of SJZU

2. Total amount of funds for laboratory construction and scientific research activation not less than 5,000,000 yuan (800,000-1,000,000 yuan in humanities and social sciences) within three years

3. Settling-in allowance of 2,000,000 yuan or a apartment of 200 m2

4. Annual salary over 800,000 yuan

5. A full-time research assistant

6. Spouse’s job placement and children’s nursery and school enrollment

(ii) Global Talents

1. Application Requirements

1) Position of a professor: outstanding academic achievements in the field, qualified ability and level for corresponding position, qualified academic backbone ability for certain research direction of existing discipline or new interdisciplines, and great development potentials.

(1) Under age 46;

(2) Meeting either of the following education and qualification requirements: (a) an overseas doctorate, more than five years of work experience in the field in renowned overseas research institutes and large enterprises, and a senior professional technical position qualification; (b) an overseas doctorate, research experience in renowned overseas universities or research institutes, and a senior professional technical position qualification

(3) Scientific research experience requirements: presiding over key research projects independently or as a team leader within five years

(4) Publishing a series of high-quality papers in academic journals of the field as the first author or a corresponding author within five years, and meeting one of the following requirements: (a) in science: publishing four papers published in SCI or top journals of the field, or eight papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (b) in engineering (including management science and engineering) : publishing three papers in SCI or top journals of the field, or six papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (c) in humanities and social science: publishing six papers in SSCIA&HCI or recognized authoritative journals of the discipline, and one or more representative academic works within five years.

2) Position of an associate professor (Class A): outstanding academic achievements in the field, qualified ability and level for corresponding position, and great development potentials.

(1) Under age 39;

(2) Good education background, a doctorate of a renowned university in the world, good international communication level and ability, and key research projects participated in as a major participant within five years;

(3) Publishing a series of high-quality papers in academic journals of the field as the first author or a corresponding author within five years, and meeting one of the following requirements: (a) in science: publishing three papers published in SCI or top journals of the field, or five papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (b)in engineering (including management science and engineering): publishing two papers in SCI or top journals of the field, or three papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (c) in humanities and social science: publishing two papers in SSCIA&HCI or recognized authoritative journals of the discipline.

3) Position of an associate professor (Class B): outstanding academic achievements in the field and great development potentials are required.

(1) Under age 36;

(2) Good education background, a doctorate of a renowned university in the world, good international communication level and ability;

(3) Publishing a series of high-quality papers in academic journals of the field as the first author or a corresponding author within five years, and meeting one of the following requirements: (a) in science: publishing two papers published in SCI or top journals of the field, or three papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (b) in engineering (including management science and engineering) : publishing one paper in SCI or top journals of the field, or two papers in EI or recognized authoritative journals of the field; (c) in humanities and social science: publishing one paper in SSCIA&HCI or recognized authoritative journals of the discipline.

3. Specific position tasks, salary and benefitsare under the talent recruitment agreement on the basis of the completion of the related work required by SJZU.

(iii) Global Scholar Short-term Recruitment Plan

The Global Scholar Short-term Recruitment Plan aims to recruit a number of well-known overseas scholars to actually participate in the training of top students, the high-level scientific research and the construction of key platforms so as to enhance the internationalization level and discipline reputation of SJZU’s teaching staff.

1. Application Requirements

1) Global chair professor (Class A): an academician of the academy of sciences or an academician of the academy of engineering in developed countries; a short-term “Thousand Talent Project” expert or a candidate of the High-end Foreign Experts Recruitment Program; an internationally renowned professor from a well-known overseas university or scientific institute and a renowned scholar recognized by international colleagues.

2) Global chair professor (Class B): a chair professor of “Chang Jiang Scholars Program”; a winner of “Overseas Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”; a scholar from a renowned overseas university or scientific institute with a formal position equivalent to professor or above.

2. Salary and Benefits

1) Global chair professor (Class A): salary of 30,000-50,000 yuan/month (before tax), international transportation subsidies of 40,000 yuan/year, and an apartment or a rent allowance of 5,000 yuan/month during the period of employment.

2) Global chair professor (Class B): salary of 20,000-30,000 yuan/month (before tax), international transportation subsidies of 40,000 yuan/year, and an apartment or a rent allowance of 5,000 yuan/month during the period of employment.

3. Position Tasks

Regular visits to SJZU to give lectures on frontier science and technology, arrange academic exchanges with younger teachers, and assist in training talents and establishing interuniversity academic exchange platforms and so on.

(iv) For global talents with special situations and requirements,their salary and benefits follow the principles of “one discussion for one case” and “special methods for special cases”, and are made under the negotiated agreement after the approval of the SJZU’s leading group for talent work.
